UPCOMING DOCUMENTARY TO CELEBRATE THE LATE DEBRA HILL

The death of Debra Hill from cancer back in 2005 was a huge blow to fans of genre cinema. From her many collaborations with John Carpenter (including on the scripts for HALLOWEEN and THE FOG) to producing classics like ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING and THE FISHER KING, Hill was a mentor to young directors and remains a powerful, inspiring figure for females looking to break into Hollywood filmmaking. As John Carpenter recalled, “Debra Hill was a trailblazer, a tough as nails female producer in a man’s world.”

While under-celebrated in life, the filmmaking duo DPYX — a.k.a. Marcy Boyle and Rachel Holzman — are looking to change that with THE DEBRA HILL DOCUMENTARY,  a feature documentary about the late, legendary filmmaker. The pair are following up their celebrated horror film NOBODY CAN COOL with the project, which is to be produced by Weirdsmobile Productions’ Lotti Pharriss Knowles.

Principal photography will begin January 2015. For updates and information on how to donate towards the project, check out:
